Once Upon a Mattress

Just when you thought you knew the story of "The Princess and The Pea", comes ONCE UPON A MATTRESS. The controlling and manipulative Queen Aggravain has declared that no one in the kingdom may marry until her son, Prince Dauntless the Drab, finds a suitable princess. When it looks like such a maid can't be found, in walks Winnifred, She is sassy, slightly uncouth and anything but shy. Dauntless, like the audience, are sure to fall in love with her. But first, she must pass a test and prove that she is a genuine princess by sleeping on top of twenty mattresses, under which lies a single pea. A mute king, a dashing knight, a beautiful lady in waiting, a jester, a minstrel, a wizard, and lively chorus all contribute to the telling of this charming and funny re-telling of a classic fairy tale.

Welcome to Rydell High! This wildly popular musical tells the story of Rydell's senior class of 1959: the hot-rodding Burger Palace Boys and their gum-snapping Pink Ladies. Head greaser Danny Zuko and new girl in town Sandy Dumbrowski try to rekindle their summer romance while the rest of the gang sings and dances its way through such songs as "Summer Nights", "Greased Lightning", and "We Go Together". GREASE evokes the look and sound of the 1950s, recalling the songs that became the soundtrack of a generation.
